Grasslands and savannas cover over a third of the terrestrial surface, and they are diverse and dynamic systems. Grasslands, which are some of the most degraded and least protected systems in the world, are also threatened by the onslaught of Anthropogenic changes. The Koerner Biodiversity Lab aims to understand the diversity and function of grassland systems and how global change will alter this diversity and function. Here, I will present research carried out in grasslands around the world that highlights the role that land management can play in shaping the future sustainability of the world’s grasslands.
