Abstract
This seminar will explore the role of adaptive immune T cells in neurodegenerative disease. The first portion will cover published findings which identified clonally expanded CD8 T cells in Alzheimer’s disease cerebrospinal fluid (Gate et al., Nature, 2020). The second portion will discuss recent findings which implicate CD4 T cells in the neurodegenerative process of Lewy body dementia, including Parkinson’s disease and dementia with Lewy bodies (Gate et al., Science, in press).
