Dr. Olav Rueppell awarded Hambleton Award for Outstanding Research

The Eastern Apicultural Society awarded Dr. Olav Rueppell the James I. Hambleton Memorial Award for Research Excellence in Apiculture. The award ceremony took place at this year’s EAS conference in Hampton, VA, which also featured an award lecture by Rueppell entitled “Transmission dynamics of honey bee viruses and the queen”.

Dr. Anne Hershey has been awarded a grant from North Carolina Sea Grant

Dr. Anne Hershey has been awarded a grant from NC Sea Grant for a proposal titled “In-stream Uptake and Retention of the Antibiotic Sulfamethoxazole (SMX) in NC Streams.” The project is in collaboration with Ph.D. student Austin Gray and will form part of his dissertation work.
