The Box Turtle Connection has released a new book!!
Announcing The Box Turtle Connection: Building a Legacy, now available for free download at https://boxturtle.uncg.edu/
The book is a guide for anyone interested in box turtles, box turtle habitat, or box turtle citizen science. Written for scientists and non-scientists, Building a Legacy is loaded with pictures and diagrams and is delightful to read. Widely applicable to turtle studies everywhere, it is now being used in Indonesia and will soon be translated into Spanish.
“Consolidates all aspects of box turtle ecology, basic data collection and habitat management, assuring opportunity for anyone to become more educated and appreciative of these fascinating animals” says Whit Gibbons, Professor Emeritus of Ecology, University of Georgia, and Head of the Environmental Outreach and Education program at the Savannah River Ecology Laboratory.

Ann Somers is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biology.
Catherine Matthews is Professor Emerita in the Teaching Education and Higher Education Department in the School of Education.
Ashley LaVere is a former UNCG biology major, now enrolled in graduate school at the Odum School of Ecology at University of Georgia studying herpetology.
