This coming Sunday, September 15, UNC Greensboro marks the opening of a new state-of the-art research facility that serves as a home to some of the most crucial research ‒ and community education ‒ that relates to pollinators, plants, and our global food supply.

Austin Gray received a Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry-North America Student Exchange Award which will support his travel to Duke University to work with Dr. Emily Bernhardt this fall to complete the third chapter of his dissertation titled “The Impact of Antibiotics on Sediment Biogeochemical Cycles.”

The Governor’s Award for Excellence is the highest honor a state employee may receive for dedicated service to the State of North Carolina and its citizens. I hope that you have all had a great winter and spring season. What a welcome spring has been after an especially long and wet winter. Spring arrived quickly, and I can’t help but draw parallels with two of the building projects that Biology is involved in.
