Biology Department Undergradute Research Fellows Gain Support from NCBC

Two of the UNCG Biology Department's undergraduate researchers, Verrico Boyd and Robert Amend, were awarded financial support from the North Carolina Biotechnology Center for their participation in the center's Undergraduate Biotechnology Research Fellowship program. Verrico Boyd is a undergraduate researcher for Dr. Parke Rublee and won support for his proposal titled: "Real-time PCR Characterization of Microbial Communities on Mount Desert Island." Robert Amend is an undergraduate research for Dr. Vincent Henrich and won support for his proposal titled: "Refinement of a cell based assay for screening novel insecticides" in the Agricultural Biotechnology Fellowship. Congratulations Verrico and Robert!
