Dr. Gideon Wasserberg, Receives Grant from NC Biotechnology Center

Gideon WasserbergUNCG Biology Assistant Professor, Dr. Gideon Wasserberg, received a grant from the North Carolina Biotechnology Center to develop traps for sand flies. Dr. Wasserberg's accomplishement was featured in a local newspaper, the Winston-Salem Journal. The journal quotes the NC Biotechnology Center "The traps could inhibit disease transmission and reduce the population of blood-fed females. Sand fly control, especially important to the health of overseas military personnel, can have a major impact on the biodefense industry in North Carolina." Congratulations Dr. Wasserberg!
