2012 NC Academy of Science Meeting Awards
Two UNCG Biology undergraduates were awarded Derieux Awards at the recent NC Academy of Sciences Meeting. Grace Anderson was presented with a First Place Derieux Award for her poster -- "Identification and Characterization of a Myosin II Heavy Chain Kinases (MHCK-D) in Dictyostelium" by Grace Anderson, Almagul Kanafina, Emily Lehman and Paul Steimle. Ashley Williams was the Second Place recipient of a Derieux Award for her poster -- "Do physical characteristics and human use affect the aquatic microbial community of lakes on Mount Desert Island, Maine?" by Ashley Williams and Parke Rublee. Congratulations Grace and Ashley!
