In Memoriam: Dr. Edward McCrady

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Edward McCrady on January 24, 2013. Dr. McCrady was a graduate and Trustee of the University of the South. He piloted B-47 (bombers) in the Strategic Air Command during the cold war and afterwards, he earned a PhD in biology from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville. He then began his long teaching career at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He was a Professor of Biology at the UNCG for 31 years. He was twice designated as the University's "Teacher of the Year," for the excellence and popularity of his instruction.

Funeral services will take place on February 2nd, 2013 at 11:00am at the All Saints' Chapel on the campus of the University of the South in Sewanee, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the University of the South:
